Justin Van Bibber

Brandon is an Oregon native, and happy about it. He attended Mount Hood Community College, then transferred to Portland State University. Where he earned a Bachelor’s in Liberal Studies, with a minor in English. During his college years he had some of his written work published in newspapers and magazines at both MHCC and PSU, and passionately continues writing as a hobby. Since college, he has worked and volunteered in the education field for over a decade. Working at: Cleveland High School, Lincoln High School, H.B. Lee Middle School and Buckman Elementary, along with finding some of his best experiences here at Impact Learning Center. From physics to forensics, mathematics to semantics, he adores all aspects of assisting aspiring adolescents. A firm believer in the purpose of education, he believes it requires effort from all, and hopes to offer his help. Like American literary master Mark Twain said: “A person who won’t read, has no advantage over one who can’t read.” And like American literary master Theodor Geisel said: “The more that you read, the more things you will know, the more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”

Amico & Bene

Amico (friend in Italian) is our official greeter. "Mico" as we call him, has had 18 weeks of training through Pet Smart in Gresham. Though he is not a certified therapy dog, he finds his way to give everyone a little love as they enter the center. Mico has been coming to work for over 2 years. Mico enjoys his days playing fetch, flying through the air, getting belly rubs and living the good life. He has a mellow disposition and loves kids. Mico lives in Gresham and shares his home with his sister Bene (good in Italian). Together they are "good friends". We like to say Mico is FUN size, as he weighs in at 42lbs. If you stop in, he will happily sit and shake a paw to get a treat.
